The establishment has long-standing expertise in closing ranks to protect its own. Any investigation into Heath would have risked exposing the wrongs of others, even if Heath was personally innocent of any direct involvement. But there is mounting evidence that in political circles there was organised child abuse, and there is good circumstantial evidence that it was covered up by the Thatcher government. My gut instinct is that he probably wasn't, but may have been aware of certain people and their activities (though I have no evidence to back this up). I don't know whether Heath was involved in child abuse or not. Someone threatens to expose Heath if charges in a different case aren't dropped and purely coincidentally those charges get dropped. Dossiers are given to the Home Secretary that mysteriously go missing. Calls are made and investigations are dropped. The establishment closes ranks to protect itself. When Heath, Britten, Smith et al were alive they were protected. In response to the Ted Heath story people were calling in to say "Why did people wait until he's dead to come forward?" as if that is proof that the claims are false. I'm going to steal that, but will always give you full credit - lol.I found myself yelling at Radio 5 earlier today. The impact of these two men on my life is immeasurable.Īnd I have to add that I also love the idea of 'living in the question'. Many of the thinkers my mentor introduced me to are not household names. Peter Senge, Fernando Flores, Thomas Kuhn. I'll miss her in many ways, although selfishly, I'll miss most the way she guided, prodded, and challenged me. Although I know it will be hard doing so, I've spent several days trying to measure the impact this fearless woman had on me during the years we worked together. How many people that you've known personally have had a significant impact on you as a thinker?įor me, two women have been critical in my growth as a thinker.
